IT’S SIMPLE, RUNNING DOESN’T DISCRIMINATE

Runners of all shapes, colors, speeds, gender Identities, and ideologies are welcome at West Line AND ALL FREESTONE Endurance EVENTS

PREGNANCY & NEW CHILD DEFERRAL POLICY

Bringing a new life into your family is no small feat and we want to support you through this journey.

The policy creates an avenue for runners or their partners, regardless of gender, to defer their spot to the following year in the event of a pregnancy, birth, or adoption during the time period after registration and before the race.

TRANSGENDER & NON BINARY REGISTRATION POLICY

We built this policy because we wanted it to be clear that all Freestone events are a safe and accepting community for all runners. Come as you are, running doesn’t discriminate and neither do we.

This was developed with guidance from the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE).

UTE TRIBAL MEMBERS

The West Line Winder takes place on Ute ancestrial land, much of which was stolen from them through the Conejos Treaty and the Ute Treaty of 1868. While we cannot undo the past, we can honor the ancestral right and connection to the land of all Utes.

Any enrolled Ute tribal member may run the Sawatch Ascent or West Line Winder free of charge.

SUSTAINABILITY

We believe in taking accountability for our actions and leaving places better than we found them.

To help reduce landfill waste, West Line and all Freestone Endurance events are committed to minimizing, or eliminating completely, single use plastics. One of the ways we’re accomplishing this is by being a cupless event and requesting runners to bring their own cup to drink and eat from.

All aid stations will have recycling and compost to further reduce landfill waste.
